Shelbourne almost snatched a late winner in a disappointing Group B game against Derry City at the Brandywell in the Setanta Sports Cup tonight.
Ciaran Martyn aimed a weak header at the Shels goal as the game livened up after the hour.

In the closing 15 minutes, Derry's Kevin McHugh had a shot saved by Shelbourne's replacement keeper Steve Williams although Joseph Ndo brought the best out of Derry keeper David Forde from long range just a minute earlier.

Ndo was creating the best of the chances and a deflected shot from him clipped the Derry post. The former Cameroon international created two more excellent chances for the visitors in the final minutes but both Owen Heary and Colin Hawkins failed to net.

Shels remain top of the group as they are still the only team to have claimed a win after two rounds of games.

Derry City : Forde, McCallion, Hargan, Oman, Hutton, Martyn, Brennan (Beckett 40), McGlynn, Molloy, Farren, O'Flynn (McHugh 72).
Shelboune : Delaney (Williams 67), Heary, Cahill, Hawkins, Dillon, Crawford, O'Halloran, Kearney (Ndo 67), Ryan, Crowe, J Byrne (Harris 84).
