Cobh Ramblers came from behind to record their second league win of the season and build on the shock League Cup win over Cork City.
Kilkenny City though had different ideas and Christy Doran blasted them ahead after 24 minutes with a strike from over thirty yards.

Cobh trailed until the fifth minute of the second half when Alan Carey's free-kick went in off the post. Less than ten minutes later Cobh were ahead. Dave Warren played the through ball and Davin O'Neill slotted home.

Cobh's win was by no means secure and got even shakier on 67 minutes when Colin Falvey was sent off after his second booking. Kilkenny came close to an equaliser when Shane Hennessy hit the bar and Sean L'Estrange fired into the side netting. However, Ramblers held on for the win and climb to sixth.

Kilkenny City : Shanahan, McMahon, L'Estrange, Mooney, Tiernan (Smith 88), King, D'Arcy, O'Hanlon, O'Brien (Malone 77), Buckley (Hennessy 64), Doran.
Cobh Ramblers : McCarthy, Falvey, Mulconry, Murray, Breen, Barrett (Carey 22), O'Neill, Murphy, O'Shea (Bruton 84), Warren, Cambridge (Yelverton 88).
