Cork City slipped up again on Friday night in their bid to retain the eircom League title. They had to come from a goal down to draw 1-1 with UCD at Belfield Park, the champions' tenth league draw of the season.

John O'Flynn caused the Students a couple of early problems. An early shot brought a good save from goalkeeper Darren Quigley while a later chance was blocked. Roy O'Donovan fired into the side netting as Cork were again struggling in front of goal.

Quigley had to be at his best to keep Cork out just before half-time and he pulled off a magnificent double save to first deny Billy Woods and then O'Flynn.

Conor Sammon broke through the City defence before firing past Michael Devine to give UCD a 71st minute lead. It only last four minutes though as Dan Murray popped up to blast home a long range effort.

There wasn't to be a winner with Cork City failing to cut the gap at the top, despite the top two drawing.
