Derry City are the third team into the last four of this season's FAI Cup, keeping alive their dreams of the domestic double. Two goals in as many minutes midway through the second half gave the Candystripes a 2-0 win over UCD at the Brandywell tonight.

Featuring a number of changes from the side which played in Paris on Thursday night, Derry took the lead after 66 minutes. Killian Brennan was fouled by Derek Doyle and Mark Farren slotted the resulting penalty past UCD keeper Darren Quigley.

A shot from Kevin McHugh less than two minutes later evaded the grasp of Quigley making it 2-0. McHugh had pounced on a loose ball and was slightly fortunate to see his shot squeeze past the UCD keeper.

UCD never looked like battling back and Derry could have added a third before the final whistle.

Derry City : Forde, McCallion, Delaney, Hutton, Holmes, McGlynn, Molloy, Deery (Higgins 80), Brennan (O'Flynn 80), McHugh, Farren.
UCD : Quigley, Mahon, Kenna, McNally, Ryan, P Byrne (Kelly 84), McWalter (C Byrne 5), McDonnell, Dicker, Doyle (Moran 74), Sammon.
