Although Derry City won their first competitive game with manager Pat Fenlon in charge, tonight's win over Glentoran at the Oval will have been tainted slightly by Fenlon's sending off in the first half. Kevin McHugh struck late to give the Brandywell club an opening win in the Setanta Sports Cup.
Fenlon was ordered from the touchline after an altercation with referee Alan Black in the dying minutes of the first half.
McHugh had to play second fiddle to Karl Bermingham in team selection but after entering the game before half time, cut his way through the Glens defence before firing home an 86th minute winner.
