Two goals in a three minute spell gave Bray Wanderers a win in Waterford tonight - in the process moving the Seagulls to fourth place in the Premier Division of the eircom League.
The game brought together Shelbourne's two goalkeepers from last season at either end of the pitch. Both were busy and Waterford keeper Dean Delaney did well to save from Paul Caffrey in the early going.
Dave Warren fired narrowly wide at the other end while Gary Cronin flicked the ball off Bray's goal-line shortly before the break. Bray keeper Steve Williams flicked away Vinny Sullivan's attempted lob just on half-time.
Sullivan again went close after the hour but saw his powerful shot rebound off the underneath of the crossbar. The deadlock was broken on 75 minutes when Colm Tresson rose to head home from David Tyrell's floated free kick.
Stephen Fox made it 2-0 just two minutes later as he slotted home after dispossessing Robbie Hedderman just outside the box.
Robert Brosnan headed a goal back for Waterford in stoppage time but there wasn't enough time to chase a second goal.
