Limerick 37 extended their unbeaten start to life in the eircom League of Ireland on Friday night with a 2-0 win over Kildare County at Jackman Park.

Dave Goldbey fired Limerick in front after 30 minutes following good build-up play from Brian Buckley and Kevin Waters.

Limerick did well in the game but a slow start to the second period almost cost them. Owen Kavanagh and Padraig Amond both went close for the visitors while Stephen McCrossan narrowly missed the target.

Some wasteful finishing from Kildare helped to preserve Limerick's lead and Padraig Moran eventually put the game beyond the visitors five minutes from the end as he ran onto Waters' through ball before slotting home.
