Bohemians scored their first goal of the season tonight and it was somewhat inevitable that it would come from Glen Crowe. Bohs ran out 1-0 winners on their trip to face Waterford United at the RSC.
A poor game saw Crowe tap home the only goal just two minutes before half time. John Paul Kelly and Chris Kingsberry combined to create the chance with Kingsberry's cross finding the striker loitering in the six yard box before he slotted past Dean Delaney.
Delaney did well in the Waterford goal and denied his former Shelbourne team-mate Crowe on a number of occasions in the second period. Crowe had hammered a shot against the crossbar in the first half.
Waterford also had chances but came up against the in-form Brian Murphy in the Bohs goal - a Waterford native. He denied Vinny Sullivan in the first period from close range. John Hayes went closest for the home side but he failed to connect with Stephen Cooling's dangerous cross inside 15 minutes.
Bohs lost captain Kevin Hunt in the second half to a red card and he now misses the big Dublin derby against Shamrock Rovers on Tuesday night. The Bohs skipper picked up a second yellow card in the 83rd minute.
