Shamrock Rovers 1
Tadhg Purcell 29
Bohemians secured a dramatic victory in tonight's Dublin derby at Dalymount Park, beating Shamrock Rovers 2-1 in the Premier Division of the eircom League.
Tadhg Purcell had put Rovers ahead in the opening half hour and the game looked to drifting towards an away win until Glen Crowe slotted the ball past Hoops keeper Barry Murphy in the 82nd minute.
Jason McGuinness then struck for a dramatic winner just two minutes from the end.
Purcell had flicked a header past Bohs goalkeeper Brian Murphy after 29 minutes to put Rovers ahead after connecting with Ger Rowe's cross into the box.
The Gypsies keeper didn't exactly cover himself in glory for the goal but he had saved from Purcell shortly before the lead goal and he did well again after the hour to tip over a long range Rovers' effort.
Just as Bohs looked set for another disappointing derby loss, Crowe raced in a through ball from Darren Mansaram and made it 1-1. The eventual winner arrived on 88 minutes when McGuinness, who had a brief spell at Rovers, rose to head in from Dessie Byrne's cross into the box.
The result ends Rovers' unbeaten start to the season leaving just the top two unbeaten in the top flight. Bohs move level on points with Rovers and Cork City in the middle of the table.
