Limerick 37 slipped to their first competitive loss as they exited the League Cup at the first round stage tonight, losing 3-0 to Cobh Ramblers. To cap a miserable night for the visitors they had three players red carded and all will now miss their Friday's home game with Finn Harps.
Alan Carey fired Cobh in front from the penalty spot after half an hour after Anthony Hayes brought down Alan King. Hayes became the first Limerick player to walk, red carded for his foul.
Cobh had virtually wrapped up their second round place before the break as Jamie Nolan fired home from Graham Cummins' cross on 38 minutes.
Gareth Cambridge headed in Cobh's third just after the hour as the night got worse for the visitors.
Peter White was the second Limerick player off, his second yellow card on 72 minutes ending his involvement.
Goalkeeper Jimmy Fyffe ended a thoroughly awful night for '37 when he saw red in the final minute after a clash with Kieran O'Reilly.
