Padraig Amond struck at the beginning and end of today's eircom League of Ireland First Division game in Wexford. The Kildare County player's last gasp penalty earned the Thoroughbreds a 2-2 draw with Wexford Youths.
Kildare, still looking for their first win in 2007, hit the front after only two minutes when Amond headed in amid confusion in the Wexford area.
Wexford levelled the game up in the first minute of the second period when Paul Malone connected with Conor Sinnott's corner kick to head home.
Sinnott was provider again five minutes later when Youths went ahead, Anthony Russell getting in on the end of another set-piece to head in.
Wexford looked set for their second win of the season when even a man down following the sending off of Gareth Larkin on 65 minutes, they battled on. However, Kildare levelled in the 90th minute from the penalty spot.
Phillip Byrne's shot was handled by Sinnott and Amond stepped up to slot home for a share of the spoils.
Kildare have now drawn three of their opening five games but without a win they are still rooted to the foot of the league. Wexford move up to fifth having still tasted defeat just once in their five league games to date.
