A 2-0 win in tonight's eircom League of Ireland Premier Division game against Bray Wanderers, lifts UCD up to seventh in the table. Derek Doyle and Conor Sammon both scored in the second half to give the College their second win on the spin.
Bray had been in the running in the first half but some poor decision making in front of goal cost them. Alan Cawley hit a weak shot at goalkeeper Matt Gregg when other options appeared on before Bray's Chris Deans raced back to clear Timmy Purcell's lobbed effort on goal at the other end.
Poor defending has been the main talking point of Bray's season to date and it continued tonight when Doyle waltzed through the static Seagulls defence to fire past goalkeeper Steve Williams and open the scoring just before the hour.
UCD might well have wrapped up the win long before they eventually did with Williams saving well with his feet from Paul Byrne as the Students looked for a second.
Andrei Georgescu came close to getting Bray back into it but his header just flicked off the wrong side of UCD's post before the chance passed.
UCD wrapped up all three points deep into stoppage time at the end of the game. Sammon ran in on a long clearance from goalkeeper Gregg before slotting home UCD's second of the night in the 95th minute.
