Shelbourne fought back to claim a draw at home to Monaghan United at Tolka Park on Friday night. Monaghan have now drawn five of their six league games.

Peter Darcy had fired Monaghan in front after 32 minutes from a free kick. Shels were not without chances and could indeed have taken the lead before the opening goal did arrive.

Shels levelled matters up on 66 minutes when Monaghan keeper Alvin Rouse mis-hit his attempted clearance. Shels' James Chambers collected the ball and dispatched it back over the head of the stranded keeper to make it 1-1.

Monaghan finished the game with ten men when Darren Meenan was red carded.

Monaghan United : Rouse, Burke, Williamson, Whelan, Mooney (McDonald 90), Feeney, Finnegan (Heffernan 69), Darcy, Farrell, Doyle (Meenan 73), Gannon.
