Bohs and Galway draw at Dalymount

Owen Heary struck late to deny Galway United their first win in the League of Ireland this season. Heary's goal gave Bohemians a 1-1 draw with the Tribesmen at Dalymount Park.

After weathering some early Bohs pressure, Galway took advantage of their first real chance of the game on 27 minutes. Alan Murphy's low driven free kick eluded Brian Murphy in the Bohs goal to give the visitors their first away league goal this year.

Chris Kingsberry fired a shot straight at Galway keeper Gary Rogers soon after as the home side went in search of an equaliser. Neale Fenn had shouts for a penalty waved away just before the break but Galway went in ahead after 45 minutes.

A superb saving tackle from Colm James denied Glen Crowe on his way to goal just after the break and for a while it looked as though Galway's brave defending would earn them all three points.

Owen Heary was on hand on 80 minutes to turn the ball home after the Galway back line had failed to deal with Harpal Singh's ball into the box.

In a dramatic finish to the game, Stephen o'Flynn almost fired home from long range after Brian Murphy miscued a clearance. Heary got back to clear off the line.

In injury time, Bohs' penalty appeals again fell on deaf ears as Darren Mansaram went down in the box.

The result moves Bohs up one place to fourth but it was a game they expected to win. Galway stay off the bottom by virtue of goal difference.
