Kilkenny City and Kildare County played out an amazing 3-3 draw at Buckley Park, Kilkenny tonight. Kildare led the First Division encounter a number of times but let the home side back in to level.

Eoin Kavanagh had fired Kildare in front after just a minute but Kevin Walsh forced the ball home for a 38th minute equaliser.

On loan Padraig Amond scored his fifth of the season to put Kildare ahead just before the hour as he headed in from Phillip Gorman's cross. When Darren Stapleton made it 3-1 just seconds later, it looked curtains for Kilkenny.

However, the two goal gap lasted just one further minute when Michael Comerford lashed home a superb long range effort. Ted O'Connor volleyed home to make it 3-3 on 79 minutes after corner kick.

Kildare are ten points behind leaders Dundalk after the draw while Kilkenny are seventh.
