Finn Harps emphatically found some form tonight as they ran out 5-0 winners over Kilkenny City in Ballybofey. Two Jonathan Minnock penalties set Harps on their way with the win wrapped up before half-time, thanks to a 4-0 lead at the break.
Minnock started the ball rolling from the spot after 22 minutes and he converted successfully again twelve minutes later.
John O'Loughlin made it 3-0 on 35 minutes and Seamus Brown hit the net on 39 minutes. O'Loughlin stole possession to fire home against a Kilkenny side that began to lose its way. Brown's goal came in similar circumstances as a rout appeared on the cards.
Chris Breen scored just after the hour to make it 5-0 and give Harps some hope of turning their poor early season form around. Breen's superb finish put the icing on the cake as Harps took advantage on an excellent pitch.
O'Loughlin and Breen had both played their part in Minnock's goals by gaining the penalties.
