Dundalk were held to a scoreless draw on their visit to Newbridge tonight against Kildare County. The First Division leaders saw their lead cut at the top as Cobh also won tonight.
Both sides had good chances to win it in the game although Dundalk will feel they should have won having created slightly more.
Austin O'Neill pulled off a couple of good saves in the Kildare goal to deny Dundalk. He saved from Trevor Vaughan after the half hour and flicked over a Shaun Williams cross late in the second period.
The keeper also denied Anthony Flood right at the end as Dundalk looked set to claim all three points.
At the other end Alan Byrne wasted a good chance as he missed the target from close range at the end of the first half for what was their best chance of the game.
