Monaghan United battled to an exciting first league win of the season as they eventually ran out 3-2 winners away to Wexford Youths in the First Division of the League of Ireland.
Aaron Mooney lashed home a stunning shot from outside the box to give Monaghan the lead inside the first minute of the game.
Robbie Farrell headed the visitors 2-0 in front as he got in on Barry Burke's cross after only eleven minutes.
Wexford made some pressure finally count just before half-time as Lloyd Colfer fired home a stunning shot across goal to cut Monaghan's lead in half.
Colfer went close in the second period but got in to level on 75 minutes as he turned home from Conor Sinnott's set piece.
Wexford looked set to turn things right around but Anthony Russell's header came back off the crossbar.
Heartache was in store for Wexford though when Mooney netted his second of the night on 81 minutes to restore Monaghan's lead. He got in on the end of Brian Gannon's corner kick to head in.
