A 2-0 win for Germany over Bulgaria at Belfield Park was enough to claim qualification for this summer's under-19 European Championship - irrespective of the outcome of Ireland's game against Hungary at United Park, Drogheda.

As it turned out, two late goals gave Ireland a 2-0 win in Drogheda. Cillian Sheridan put Ireland ahead on 84 minutes before James Ryan made it 2-0 in the final minute.

Sheridan marked his first start this week with the opening goal to ease Irish frustration five minutes from the end. Sheridan headed home from inside the area as he powered down Keith Treacy's cross.

Ryan drilled home a long range shot in the final minute.

Tonight's results mean Germany top the group by one point with Wednesday's win over Ireland proving decisive for them.
