An early Glen Crowe goal put Bohemians back on track and proved to be the only goal of the game as Bohs won 1-0 on their trip to face Galway United on Friday night. The win moves Bohs up to third and to within one point of third placed Drogheda.
Bohs had survived an early scare when Stephen O'Flynn's penalty appeal had been waved away by referee Anthony Buttimer.
Crowe struck the only goal of the game on 16 minutes as he forced the ball home at the second attempt after Darren Mansaram had helped Owen Heary's long throw into his path.
Most teams struggle to break down this Bohs defence and Galway no different as the quality of the game dropped.
The Tribesmen did rally near the end but failed to overextend the visitors. The sending off of John Lester on 73 minutes didn't do their cause any favours and the game tailed out into another narrow Bohs win.
Galway United : Rogers, McKenna, Nootimer, Charles, Reilly (James 69), Moran (Cooke 58), Lester, Murphy (Tracy 83), O'Brien, O'Flynn, Glynn.
Bohemians : Murphy, O Heary, Burns, McGuinness, Powell, Rice, T Heary, Byrne, Fenn, Mansaram (Kingsberry 46), Crowe.
