Kilkenny City and Monaghan United played out a 2-2 draw at the bottom of the First Division on Friday night at Buckley Park, Kilkenny.

Martin Tynan finished after a Stephen Grant corner to put Kilkenny ahead after 13 minutes. The lead lasted only a few minutes though as Barry Burke headed Monaghan level on 17 minutes.

Brian Gannon put Monaghan ahead inside ten minutes of the second half. Willie Doyle almost put the game beyond the home side as he fired an effort against the post.

John McNicholas grabbed an equaliser on 67 minutes with the game running out as a draw. One point each leaves the teams struggling at the bottom but does move both level on points with Shelbourne.
