Derry City's miserable run of results continued tonight as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Waterford United at the Brandywell.

Looking to build on Friday's good performance, Derry were looking to go one better and pick up a much needed win.

They got the perfect start as a flowing move saw Peter Hynes guide the ball home after only ten minutes. Hynes should have made it 2-0 minutes later but missed with a header in a glorious position.

However, Waterford responded and were level midway through the half when Robert Brosnan got in to flick home a header from Shane Harte's free kick.

Derry, didn't impose themselves enough in the second half and Waterford hung on for the draw. Kevin McHugh's shot which forced a good save from Dean Delaney in the closing 15 minutes was as close as Derry came to winning it.
