Bray Wanderers ended UCD's ten game unbeaten run with a 2-1 win at the Carlisle Grounds in Bray tonight.
Andrei Georgescu's willingness to chase a loose ball helped create the first goal. He laid off to Alan Cawley who in turn combined with a fellow UCD old boy to open the scoring on 19 minutes. Clive Delaney rose to glance home a close range header for the Seagulls' opener.
Bray had a let-off before the break as first goalkeeper Steve Williams saved from Derek Doyle before Chris Deans knocked the loose ball away from the danger zone.
A quick UCD break saw Derek Doyle level. He got in to drill home a low shot as he got on the end of Conan Byrne's cross.
However, Bray retook the lead on 69 minutes as youngster Gary McCabe beat the UCD defence fired home past Bray old-boy Matt Gregg for what proved to be the winner.
Bray's win lifts them to eighth and within one point of the College.
