Despite a good start, Dundalk didn't actually wrap up their win over Monaghan United until the final minute in tonight's eircom League of Ireland First Division game at Oriel Park.
Christy Doran turned the ball home after less than sixty seconds as Dundalk gained the perfect following Phillip Hughes' initial effort running across goal.
Paul Smyth made it 2-0 as he headed home after a good move from Dave Crawley and Cathal O'Connor. Leading 2-0 after just eight minutes, most would have expected Dundalk to romp to a comfortable win.
