It turned out to be a good round of games for Dundalk in the First Divison of the eircom League of Ireland as the two teams chasing them both dropped points. Cobh Ramblers drew 0-0 away to Kilkenny City in a night of surprises in Irish football.

Kilkenny battled bravely to pick up an unlikely point against the side currently second in the division.

Kilkenny also created a couple of chances only to be denied.

Cobh almost snatched a dramatic late winner but Graham Cummins' shot came back off the upright in stoppage time.
