Sligo Rovers stunned Bohemians and former boss Sean Connor at the Showgrounds on Saturday night. The Bit O' Red secured a 2-1 win over title hopefuls Bohs as Fahrudin Kuduzovic scored a dramatic winner from the penalty spot in injury time.
Bohs went into the game as massive favourites having beaten league leaders St. Pats on Monday night. However, Sligo took control early on with Kuduzovic forcing a save from goalkeeper Brian Murphy and defender Keith Foy flicking a cross against an upright.
From the loose ball, Gavin Peers sent the ball back across goal and Matthew Judge tapped home to give Sligo an eighth minute lead.
Sligo might well have gone in two up at the break only to see Judge denied by both Murphy and defender Jason McGuinness.
Bohs hadn't offered much in the first period but were level four minutes after the break when Sligo native Mark Rossiter slotted home from the penalty spot after Seamus Coleman had brought down Glen Crowe in the box.
The encounter was more than a little heated with a number of bookings on either side as Sligo also saw manager Paul Cook and assistant Gerry Carr both ordered from the bench before the end.
Sligo had chances to retake their lead but almost fell behind when Rossiter went close to grabbing his second of the night.
Owen Heary cleared a Sean Flannery effort off the line while Heary himself and a couple of his team-mates found Sligo keeper Richard Brush in top form at the other end.
The eventual winner arrived deep into stoppage time as former Sligo player Liam Burns dragged down Kuduzovic in the area and the Bosnian stepped up to slot home and send a bumper home crowd into raptures.
The result means Bohs follow St. Pats and Drogheda in slipping up this weekend with Shamrock Rovers the main beneficiaries. Sligo climb up to eighth following another surprise home win.
