Kildare County and Wexford Youths played out a 1-1 draw in Newbridge on Saturday night with both goals coming inside the opening 15 minutes. The result leaves both sides in the wrong half of the League of Ireland First Division.
Garrett Larkin stole in on the end of Conor Sinnott's free kick before slotting home an eighth minute lead goal for struggling Wexford.
The lead last just six minutes though as Sean L'Estrange picked out Phillip Gorman with another free kick and he headed in to make it 1-1.
Johnny Flynn O'Connor almost grabbed a fortuitous second for the visitors just after the hour as his long range shot somehow slipped away from Kildare keeper Austin O'Neill. To the keeper and Kildare's relief though the ball squirmed just wide.
Neither side created much in the second period with a draw looking a likely result.
