Belfield Park

Sligo Rovers' revival continued on Friday night as a 2-0 win at Belfield Park lifted them ahead of their hosts, UCD. Second half goals from Adam Hughes and Matthew Judge gave the Bit O' Red all three points.

Hughes slotted Sligo in front three minutes into the second half after Chris Turner and Judge combined to set him up.

There might have been a different outcome to the game if Shane McFaul's shot had gone in instead of rebounding out off the post.

A quick Sligo break against a chasing UCD saw the visitors make it 2-0 on 75 minutes. Judge ran onto Turner's flick forward and evaded the home defence before slotting in.

UCD still didn't sit back and take defeat. Paul Byrne and Timmy Purcell each forced good saves from goalkeeper Richard Brush.

All three points lift Sligo up to sixth in the League of Ireland table while UCD slip down to seventh.
