Finn Harps' recent revival continued tonight as they moved to within eight points of third placed Limerick 37 in the First Division of the eircom League of Ireland. Harps ran out 1-0 winners on their trip to face Wexford Youths.

Harps were on top for most of the game against a Wexford side which has now dropped bottom of the entire league.

Despite chances, it took Harps the entire first half before they broke the deadlock. Conor Gethins fired home what proved to be the only goal on the stroke of half-time. The Harps man fired in eighth goal of the season as he got in on the end of John O'Loughlin's cross.

Gethins could have made it 2-0 in the second half and although Wexford created little in the game, they might have punished the visitors before the end.

Harps finished the game with ten men after Stephen Parkhouse picked up his second booking of the game on 86 minutes and Andrew O'Loughlin went agonizingly close for the home side in stoppage time.
