Finn Harps are one of the form teams in the eircom League of Ireland at the moment and they climbed to fourth in the First Division tonight after a 2-0 win over Kildare County at Finn Park. Harps are now just six points behind third place with a game in hand.

Harps were looking for their fourth consecutive league win and started brightly, eventually taking the lead on 28 minutes. Seamus Brown fired home a superb shot as he spun on the ball outside the Kildare area.

Harps were well and truly on top but struggled to wrap up the win they seemed certain to collect.

Harps finally did clinch the win on 74 minutes as Conor Gethins fired home a low drive to make it 2-0.

A poor night for Kildare got worse ten minutes from the end when Phillip Gorman was sent off after a clash with Matthew Crossan.
