A second half revival saw Sligo Rovers beat Longford Town 2-1 at Flancare Park in the Premier Division of the League of Ireland tonight. The win moves Sligo to within one point of fifth placed Cork City.

Ian Wexler had put bottom side Longford Town in front with a diving header after only 19 minutes. His first goal in the league came after a surging run down the wing from Pat Sullivan before he flung in a dangerous cross.

Faz Kudozovic levelled the game up from the penalty spot on 56 minutes. Raf Cretaro then hit the winner with his first goal since rejoining the club.

Brian Cash was brought down by Sean Prunty for the equalising spot kick with Kudozovic smashing in his fifth league goal of the season.

Cretaro's winner arrived on 65 minutes when he headed in from Matthew Judge's cross.

Both sides hit the woodwork in the closing minutes and Longford might well have salvaged a much needed point. David Mooney headed against a post before Kudozovic and Gary Curran hammered against the crossbar at the other end.
