Derek McCarthy 40

Cobh Ramblers scored a dramatic late winner to claim all three points in what effectively could have been a decider for second place in the First Division of the League of Ireland. Shane Guthrie scored deep into stoppage time to give Cobh a 2-1 win over Limerick 37 at Saint Colman's Park and put seven points between the clubs.

Davin O'Neill had given Cobh a 15th minute lead when he headed home from close range. However, he was later sent off in the closing 15 minutes of the game.

Derek McCarthy marked his recent return to Limerick football by levelling against the run of play with a shot from inside the Cobh box five minutes before half-time.

However, with a draw looking likely, Guthrie pounced in added on time to snatch a very important win for Cobh.
