Finn Harps 1
Stephen Parkhouse 17
Shelbourne 0
Finn Park
Finn Harps secured their seventh win in eight League of Ireland First Division games as they continued their relentless mid-season chase of the top three. Harps ran out 1-0 winners against Shelbourne at Finn Park tonight.
Stephen Parkhouse headed in the only goal of the game as he connected with Barry Curran's 17th minute cross.
Shels hopes of a fight-back were dealt a massive blow on the half-hour as Mark Leech was sent off when an apparent dive saw him booked for the second time.
Parkhouse might well had wrapped up the win before half-time but just failed to connect with Conor Gethin's dangerous low ball across the face of goal.
Harps' win never seemed in jeopardy and they might well have put the game beyond ten man Shelbourne before the final whistle eventually blew.
