Bohemians are into their fifth League Cup final after edging past Dublin rivals Shamrock Rovers 1-0 at Dalymount Park tonight. Bohs battled for 75 minutes a man down after Mark Rossiter was sent off for the second game running.

Glen Crowe struck the only goal of the game as he headed home after a corner just before the hour in a hotly contested encounter. The Gypsies will face the winners of the other semi-final between Derry City and UCD which takes place in three weeks time with the final tentatively scheduled for the week beginning 8th October.

Sent off in the 3-0 loss to Longford at the weekend, Rossiter picked up a booking inside ten minutes but was slightly unfortunate to pick up another after a coming together with David Cassidy in just the sixteenth minute.

Bohs hit the only goal of the game on 59 minutes as Crowe rose to head home John-Paul Kelly's set-piece and stun Rovers.

Bohs keeper Brian Murphy shook off a shoulder injury to play and he saved well from Tadhg Purcell in the closing minutes as Rovers came close to levelling right at the end. Rovers goalkeeper Barry Murphy even went close as he raced up to meet a stoppage time corner kick, heading narrowly over the Bohs goal.
