Waterford United and Sligo Rovers will have to do it again after playing out a 1-1 draw at the RSC tonight. They meet again in Sligo on Tuesday night.

Karl Bermingham had fired Waterford ahead on 15 minutes when referee Alan Kelly over-ruled a linesman's offside flag. Daryl Kavanagh's cross eventually found its way to Bermingham with the referee ruling that Sligo's Jamie McKenzie had touched it last - negating any offside.

Sligo's equaliser came before the half-hour when Adam Hughes shook off the attentions of David Breen to convert low to the net from Brian Cash's cross.

Breen almost snatched the lead for Waterford again shortly after half-time but his header was cleared off the line by Seamus Coleman.

Rafael Cretaro and Stephen Manson both created openings as Sligo pushed to grab a winner but Waterford were far from outplayed by the high flying Rovers.

However, Sligo almost grabbed the winner right at the end. Fahrudin Kudozovic hit a typically dangerous set-piece at goal but home keeper Dean Delaney pushed it away superbly to ensure a replay at the Showgrounds.
