There may have thousands from the North-west in attendance at a packed Finn Park but it was Dubliner Ken Oman who settled tonight's FAI Cup third round tie as Derry City ran out 1-0 winners against Finn Harps.

Oman got in to head home from Kevin Deery's ninth minute set-piece in front of a packed Finn Park.

Harps had the first real chance of the game when the First Division's top scorer Conor Gethins brought a super stop from Derry keeper Pat Jennings and the net-minder was quick to collect the loose ball before Harps could capitalize.

Playing against former club for the first time, Kevin McHugh almost set up a second but missed out Ciaran Martyn with a cut-back.

Stephen Parkhouse had the visiting Candystripes worried with a bobbling shot that narrowly missed the target.

After the break Sean Hargan cut inside and forced a good save from James Gallagher with a driven shot at goal.

Parkhouse again went close before Declan Divin missed with probably Harps best chance of the game as he failed to hit the target from a good position.
