Derry City kept the top half of the League of Ireland Premier Division in sight with a 3-0 win over stuggling Bray Wanderers at the Brandywell on Friday night. The result dumps the Seagulls into serious relegation jeopardy after Galway leap-frogged them.
Still finding their feet under new boss John Robertson, Derry have now gone six league games without defeat and look well positioned to mount a late season challenge for at least the top five.
Peter Hutton gave Derry the perfect started as he headed home after only fifteen minutes after Darren Kelly flicked on Kevin Deery's corner kick.
Kevin McHugh made it 2-0 as he headed home Killian Brennan's cross from close range.
A miserable night for Bray got worse on 65 minutes as Sammy Morrow netted the third on the night and his third since joining the Candystripes. A dis-heartened Bray let Morrow in and he lobbed over Chris O'Connor to round off the win.
