Bohemians ran out 3-0 winners on their visit to Bray on Friday night - boosting the Gypsies' claims for a European or Setanta place. All three goals and indeed two red cards came in the second half of the game at the Carlisle Grounds.

Hampered in their league ambitions thanks mainly to some very poor form away from Dalymount Park, Bohs struggled to unlock Bray with the first half ending scoreless.

Bohs hit the front eight minutes into the second half when Mark Rossiter unleashed a stunning long range shot after being allowed far too much time and space by the Bray defence.

Bray came close to grabbing an instant equaliser when Patrick Kavanagh headed against Alan Blayney's crossbar following a corner kick.

It got better for Bohs though as Ryan McCann netted for the second game running to make it 2-0 just three minutes later. Neale Fenn teed up a long clearance forward for McCann to drill home low from inside the box.

Bohs wrapped up a convincing win when Glen Crowe headed home from Dean Richardon's free kick for his eleventh goal of the season.

A mass brawl in injury time marred the end of the game with either side losing a player to a red card. Bray's Ray Kenny and Bohs' Darren Mansaram ended the game fractionally earlier than their respective team-mates but it had no impact on the result.

Bohs were left to celebrate their third away win of the season and their first in almost three months. Bray though are still in danger with bottom side Longford now just five points behind them as they eye up no only avoiding the automatic drop but also the play-offs.
