For some reason, Shelbourne thought James Chambers was suspended for Friday night's trip to face Wexford Youths at the Wexford Youths Football Complex. However, Chambers would eventually grab the winning goal ten minutes from the end as Shels ran out 2-1 winners as they close in on fourth placed Limerick 37.

Wexford took the lead after twelve minutes when Johnny Flynn-O'Connor netted his first League of Ireland goal as he stole in on a cross from Darren Browne to slot home.

Mark Leech levelled matters up seven minutes before half-time as he pounced to drill home a loose ball after a Lee Roche corner kick wasn't dealt with.

Browne might have sent Wexford in ahead at the break but somehow missed the target from close in.

Anto Flood almost grabbed a winner but his shot was cleared off the line seconds before substitute Chambers did grab the winner ten minutes from the end as he drilled home a low shot to beat the home side.

The win keeps fourth placed Limerick 37 very clearly in sight for Shels.
