Wexford Football Complex
Referee : Tom Connolly
Just as in July's abandoned game at the same venue, Wexford Youths and Limerick 37 played out a 1-1 draw at the Wexford Football Complex in the First Division of the League of Ireland tonight.
The result means leaves Limerick 37's promotion push all but over as they now trail third placed Dundalk by seven points.
After surviving the early scare of seeing a Wexford goal from Eric Bradley ruled out by offside, Limerick took control of proceedings with Kevin Waters going close before he won a penalty just under ten minutes before half-time.
John Tierney stepped up and slotted home the kick to put Limerick ahead and for a while Limerick seemed content with the one goal lead. They did go close in a quiet period at the start of the second half.
Tierney went close again but Wexford drew themselves level on 76 minutes through Patsy Malone. He got in on the end of Johnny Flynn-O'Connor's inviting free kick to turn the ball home and give Wexford a share of the spoils.
Wexford Youths : J Russell, Larkin, A Russell, Rossiter, Wadding, Malone, O'Loughlin, Furlong, Bradley, Sinnott, Flynn-O'Connor.
Limerick 37 : Fyffe, White, Molan, Colbert, Purcell, Hayes (Harkin 51), Cosgrave, Barrett, Tierney, Waters, Kelleher (McCarthy 51).
