Shels win to continue mid-season revival

Shelbourne continued their push for a respectable mid-table finish in the First Division of the League of Ireland with a 2-1 win over Kildare County at Tolka Park in Dublin today.

Anthony Flood marked his return to the Shels line-up with the opening goal on 51 minutes. The already much travelled striker headed Shels in front as he connected with Marc McCulloch's corner kick into the box.

Mark Leech made it 2-0 six minutes from the end after a surging run from midfield before his shot found the back of the net.

Dean Barrett grabbed a consolation goal for the visitors in the final minute as he broke through the Shels defence.
