In the build up to Friday's game against Limerick 37, Finn Harps boss Paul Hegarty has paid tribute to the Harps fans who have backed his side in recent games, "The support was fantastic against Cobh, and again in Monaghan, so I hope to see another great atmosphere on Friday. You can't buy that to be honest. It is great for players to go away from home and see support like that and hear the noise that they are making. It's great for the players and you feel a part of something really special."
As Harps continue their amazing promotion push, they have attracted improved crowds. Over 5,000 watched them take on a Glasgow Celtic side early in the season while 3,100 recently saw Harps beat First Division title rivals Cobh Ramblers. Approximately 700 Harps supporters travelled to Monaghan last week as the First Division side retook their lead of the division with a superb display in a 4-0 win over Monaghan.
"We have said all along that the more people we get into Finn Park, the better. Players will always respond to that and it can make the opposition nervous too. With the results we have been getting lately, people have been really getting out and supporting us. We are going to need all that between now and the end of the season. This week against Limerick we are definitely going to need a hell of an atmosphere to get people up and running again. Players will always find it easier to play whenever they are playing in front of a good crowd and a crowd that appreciates what they are trying to do," added Hegarty.
